Hitman 3 Review: An Amazing Assassination Game

If you have got your hands on the powerful PS5 console, Hitman 3 is the perfect game to celebrate the victory over thousands still trying to grab it.

This game is the eighth major installment in the Hitman series and the concluding entry in the World of Assassination trilogy.

Developed and published by IO Interactive, it was released on 20 January 2021 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Stadia, and Switch.

Soon after the launch, IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak said that it has performed 300% better commercially than its predecessor. Overall review for the game has been very positive globally.

Hitman 3 is a proper end to the journey of Agent47, as this title brings more freedom into the gameplay. Hitman1 was episodic and many fans complained that it unnecessarily prolonged the experience.

Hitman2 was criticized for being an extra-large expansion dumped at once. This release rectified all issues and gave the players the ideal combination of stealth and fun.

IOI has retained an equivalent core structure and each mission features an enticing set of challenges, feats, discovery jobs, and other completionist checklist items.

The game also retains an excellent storyline including great character interactions and sophisticated kills.

Something that has changed is that you will have to figure out several things on your own by interacting with the environment. Lack of clues and guides makes the experience more immersive.

Also, you now have a spy camera that can be used to hack various objects. Make a plan, distract the guards, don new disguises, hide from other assassins, kill silently, and escape!

The game features PlayStation VR compatibility on the PS 4, with support for PS 5.

There are no multiplayer modes but developers have kept Contracts Mode, where a player can select up to five targets across the 24 maps.

The gameplay also features shortcuts, a new addition to the series. Each stage consists of locked doors that can only be opened from one side. Once unlocked, these doors stay open always, allowing Agent47 to reach closed-off locations quickly.

IOI has upgraded their Glacier Engine to include screen-space reflections, make materials pop, and appear more life-like. This is evident when you land on top of a skyscraper in Dubai.

The neon lights and the addition of rain are icing on the cake when it comes to graphics. Note, owners of the previous two games can import their progress and unlocks. Isn’t this just neat?

Here are some quotes culminating the response for this game. “The perfect closure to the adventures of Agent 47”.

“Flawless gameplay, creative maps, and strong story-telling”. “A benchmark for generous sandbox game design”.

“Every time you think that you’re done, you find a secret room, a replacement passcode quest, or an intriguing subplot”.

“The best stealth game I even have encountered in a long time”. Well, we leave you to establish your own view now. If you are a gamer who likes third-person action games, Hitman 3 is the way to enjoy!
